Issue.21 of Percy's Basementmade Remix Series.Plus-Tech Squeeze Box are a Studio Laboratory manned by the musical Duo Hayashibe Tomonori(keys, programming, etc.) and Wakiya Takeshi(guitar, bass, etc.),who first teamed up in 1997. They create a mixture of Pop,Lounge,Hip-hop,Bigbeat,Electro and Jazz in odd combinations that usually flies by at high speeds.After releasing their first Album in 2000,the Band fastly became Representatives for the emerging Picopop or Neo-Shibuya kei Scene. Their debut Album Fakevox was a quite Hit in Europe and Songs were used in Comercials for Coca Cola & Powerade.In Japan Plus-Tech Squeeze Box Skills & Styles were very demanded by fellow Picopop Artists such as Petset,Sonic Coaster Pop & Strawberry Machine to remix their Songs.In 2004 they released their second Album Cartoom! which was even more succesful.Their Track "Jellyfish Song By The Jellyfish Band" became part of the Spongebob Squarepants Soundtrack.For unknown reason Plus-Tech Squeeze Box disappered from Scene but their Songs appeared in Video Games such as Pop'n Music and Dance Dance Revolution Universe.In 2010 Hayashibe Tomonori, together with Maeda Ryōma released an Album under the Name Tropico Q.

Hit the Bongo:The Comoesta Yaegashi Remixes

Issue.20 of Percy's Basementmade Remix Series.It took some Time but now we can take a look at the Remix Work of Comoesta Yaegashi.In the early 1990s,he formed the Tokyo Panorama Mambo Boys who became an important part of the emerging Shibuya-kei Scene.After their split,he founded 5th Garden.He became part of Konishi's Readymade Label for which he released & compiled several Records.He joined Konshi & Masanori Ikeda for their European DJ Tour.After the End of the Shibuya-kei Hype,Yaegashi teams up with pianist Mari Fukuhara to form Since to create a more natural sound.He did the Soundtrack for "Body Asphalt" together with Jet Lopez.He also started to write Column's about Modern Architecture and Design.In 2008 Paradise Yamamoto,DJ Comoesta and Gonzalez Suzuki reunited to release some new Mambo Boys Material,he also works with Yamamoto as Mambo Unit.Latley he released a 7" with a Cover Version of Kraftwerk's Pocket Calculator called "Dentaku".I hope you enjoy this little Collection of Percussion driven Remixes by this true Latineer.

Issue 16 of Percy's Basementmade Remix Series.The Maxwell Implosion is Torsten Heller, a German DJ who fuses lounge, jazz, bossa nova, and soundtracks of the '60s and '70s. Before recording his own work, the record connoisseur had stints on the turntables in Japan, the United States, Moscow, Barcelona, and Rome. The Maxwell Implosion has played shows with Dimitri From Paris, the Brand New Heavies, Towa Tei, and the Cardigans, while remix work has included Pizzicato Five and Kenickie. His debut record, Small Circle of Friends, features contributions from like-minded artists such as Laila France, Nicola Conte, and Montefiori Cocktail.Maxwell was a Maniac. Everything he ever tried in his life (and was a lot), he did 150 %. He received his Doctorate in Medicine (but didn´t want to be rich), he studied Danish Design (but got bored), he is a vinyl-junkie... Maybe this all developed, because he escaped East-Germany before the Wall came down and had to discover western-decadence (like old vinyl records) in a very short time.Around the Year 2000 Maxwell suddenly disappeared.His heritage consists of a handful of Records & about 20 Remixes.Here are 14 of his finest.Maxwell we miss you.

Rio,Japan:Sunaga't Experience Remixes

Issue 15 of Percy's Basementmade Remix Series.Tatsuo Sunaga started DJing career in the beginning of the Japanese club music scene. He has residencies in Tokyo and Osaka and also is quite busy djing all around Japan as well as overseas. He has released 6 titles of his mix CD series, World Standard through Flower and his so-called, lifework jazz compilation series, Sunaga Tatsuo no Yoru Jazz (Tatsuo Sunaga's Night Jazz) was and continuing to be released by 8 record companies and in total, 16 compilations are scheduled to be released through them. He has also released many domestic compilations but also compiled compilations of overseas labels such as Schema, Irma, Blue Note, Fania, etc. in Japan.
